RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct laboratory and field tests in compliance with prevailing standards/procedures.
• Perform Field Quality Control Testing (material sampling, compaction, coring).
• Participate in activities related to the quality system, and other duties as assigned.
• The majority of testing & sample collection is in the field at various jobsites within Toronto and the GTA (a company vehicle is provided for travel between sites).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education in a civil engineering, construction technology, or related technical field is an asset.
• Good testing knowledge of aggregate and hot mix asphalt used in road building.
• Experience in a laboratory environment is an asset.
• Certification of Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) is an asset.
• Familiar with Marshall and Superpave methods of HMA testing.
• Technical knowledge of aggregate and asphalt quality.
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
• The ability to lift at least 50lbs on a regular basis is required.
• Comfortable working outdoors.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage and prioritize workload.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts.

***A valid Ontario G-class Driver’s License with an acceptable driver’s abstract is required.

LOCATION:

• In-person at our Scarborough location (70 Passmore Avenue, Toronto, ON)

HOURS OF OPERATION:

• Shifts are typically 10-12 hours in length, starting at 6:00am, however may fluctuate and may include night-shift operations when needed, depending on business needs.

SEASONALITY:

• Our season is operational from April to December. During the winter months, snow removal positions are available.
