Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment, maintenance tasks, and utilizing the ticket system at our asphalt plant facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment (i.e. loaders) at the asphalt plant.
• Utilize the ticket system.
• Answer phones and interact with customers.
• Perform plant maintenance.
• Physical duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Comfortable working outdoors.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure.

This position is primarily based at 176 Bethridge Road, Etobicoke – but is required to work at our other asphalt plant locations if required.

Must be available to work flexible shifts.  Evenings and nights are required at various times throughout the season.

Compensation:

Maximum rate is $33.76/hour, and a trainee rate may apply.

This role is a unionized position; must be prepared to register with Local 793.

This position is seasonal full-time with the availability of year-round work for those interested in winter snow removal positions.
