Aggregate Materials Names and Typical Uses
GRANULAR A LIMESTONE (3/4” CRUSHER RUN LIMESTONE)
This material is used as general road base, asphalt driveways and highway construction, institutional and commercial buildings, sub-base for concrete sidewalks, concrete driveways, general landscaping and countless other uses. After compaction this material creates a good structurally sound surface with high load bearing capacity.
GRANULAR B Type I (LIMESTONE)
Similar to 2’ Crusher Run Limestone this product is used in similar applications as Granular A Limestone (3/4” Crusher Run). The is a wide variation in gradation for this product. Typical this product is used where additional support is required to improve load bearing capacity. However, other versions of this product can enhance certain attributes to be used for backfill to retaining walls, sewer and watermain applications, as well as many other residential, commercial and landscaping applications. This product can be designed with various sized stone particles and varying fine aggregate gradations to create the desired performance criteria.
2" CRUSHER RUN LIMESTONE (Granular B Type II)
This product is used in similar applications as Granular A Limestone (3/4” Crusher Run). Typical this product is used where deeper / additional support is required to improve load bearing capacity.
GRANULAR M (LIMESTONE) 5/8” Crusher Run Limestone
Similar to Granular A Limestone this product is used in similar applications as Granular A Limestone (3/4” Crusher Run). Typical this product is used where a smaller size stone is desirable on the shoulders of roads, laneways, residential driveways, and lower volume roads. This product has a smaller maximum size of the Stone particles vs Granular A (Limestone) or Granular A (Sand & Gravel). Additionally, this “Premium” Aggregate can be modified and used as a Class 2 Surface Treatment Aggregate.
GRANULAR S (LIMESTONE)
Similar to Granular A Limestone this product is a used in similar applications as Granular A Limestone (3/4” Crusher Run).
